Strategy and Your Network Marketing Business

I have to admit I am a huge NFL fan. I used to be part of the NFL in network marketing but was never a part of the National Football League. The NFL in network marketing refers to a person who is in the No Friends Left League after exhausting his or her warm market.

Be that as it may I am a big NFL fan and spend most Sundays in the fall watching games. I usually try to catch at least two games a week, What I find so fascinating is that these ‘fields” are basically the players and coaches office. Literally we are watching professionals at their job on the fly. Some are awesome and some are not so good, but you can learn a lot by watching and studying the game.

Now I have watched games for the better part of thirty years now and one consistent thing that keeps jumping out is that the more disciplined you are, the better your team is. Basically if you stay within yourself and keep from getting penalties and can make basic plays , like tackling, you win.

Now what in the world does this have to do with network marketing and working from home. Well imagine the more you stay disciplined to a schedule and continue to do the basic things correctly, the more you succeed. Time, effort and energy must be disciplined in our business, we must set to a basic schedule and stick to it. Much like football teams, must learn not to take penalties and tackle to become successful.

Now as we incorporate these skills we can add on to them and push our personal envelope. Just as you see successful football teams do. Once they have the basic skills down, they move on to more advanced plays and defenses. Similarly we can move on to advanced forms of marketing our networking marketing programs once we have our basic skill set down.

But the key is we must work everyday to continue to make the basic skills an automatic part of our system. Just like tackling for an All Pro linebacker becomes second nature, we must learn to approach prospects for our business the same way , everyday and every time, no missed tackles. To be honest in prospecting it is more about making sure we are tackling the ball carrier and speaking to the right prospect than anything else.

My last thought about the correlations between the NFL and our home based business is the conservative nature of losing teams. If you watch losing teams when they are winning a particular game, they tend to play not to lose. If you watch winning teams, they dominant and play to win. It is the same for our network marketing business.

Do you know why 95% of business fails, because they are playing not to lose marketing. We must go out and play winning marketing and implement winning strategies. Instead of living and dying with one prospect a week, how about living with 25-30 prospects a week. Not only 25-30 prospects but the right prospects as well.

As in football learn the basics, mindset, tackling and numbers. It is much easier to win with these factors in your favor than trying to win with gimmick plays and silly strategies.
