Three Things Taught in Network Marketing That Virtually Guarantee Your Failure

Do you feel like a pest every time you open your mouth to sell your MLM product or opportunity? If you're using the same old tired and untrue methods that your company and upline have no doubt been teaching you, there is a very good reason for having this feeling, and the reason is this...you actually ARE being a pest.

Now hear me out. I know you mean well, and I know that the knot in the pit of your stomach is what you think is holding you back and if you could just "get over it" you'd do great in your network marketing business...am I right? But let me submit to you that that knot in your belly is actually telling you that what you're doing just isn't right!

Listen to the brain in your gut... sometimes it has more sense than the brain in your head.

So if you're still implementing such Paleolithic MLM techniques as these -

Warm market list - Hounding your friends and family into joining Your MLM

3 way calling - Treating your upline like an employer, positioning them as the leader

Opportunity leads - Great for the lead company, but you...not so much

Not only are you being a pest but you are also putting yourself in the unenviable position to get royally dumped upon by your would-be prospects. Not surprisingly, this is the leading cause of the 98% new distributor drop out rate. You see, no one wants to get the humiliating rolling eyes ridicule from friends or family members who can't believe you've fallen for yet another mlm scam.

In order to understand what methods DO work, let's first understand why these other methods don't work, starting with...

Warm Market /Chilly Response

Ask yourself, why should your friends or family listen to you when you come to them with your business opportunity...are you suddenly a filthy rich MLM marketing guru who has all the answers? Are you lunching with DON Trump or playing golf with BOB Kiyosaki now? I'm guessing not or you wouldn't be here.

So here's the truth about your warm market...ready? The truth is that although your friends and family know you and may even trust you, it's not in the way that you're hoping.

You see although they care about you and may even consider you to be the sugar in their coffee, it also means that they know for a fact that you don't know a thing about becoming the next wealthy MLM Guru, and as such will at best blow you off like an annoying bit of fluff or at worst smack you down like a pesky mosquito at a Summer barbecue (you know...the ones you don't seem to get invited to much anymore?).

In any case you can't really blame them for taking no interest in joining your MLM business if it means wearing the same acutely desperate look on their face that you've worn on your face since joining your new Network marketing company.

But seriously folks, what other business would have you rely on making a list of 200 of your friends and family to play phone tag with as a viable way of marketing your products or services?

Is it any wonder - that with this sort of marketing plan fewer than 3% of all MLM distributors ever truly succeed enough to eek out a even a small living much less capture the brass ring of earning a six or seven figure income. The sad fact remains that 97% of all network marketers drop out within the first six months of joining.

3 Way Calling / How To Position The Wrong Leader

Again you've gotta' ask yourself why would anyone want to follow a person into business who has to go running to their up line like a new employee looking for help from their assistant manager on a 3 way call? What does that do to their perception of your leadership skills? Does it really inspire confidence in your new rep or does it make you look like your uplines employee (or worse yet their gopher).

Now I know all about the "use an expert" thing, but if you want to be seen as a serious network marketer that title needs to belong to you! It's your business, step up and be the expert and OWNER of your MLM business. If not...Houston we have a problem.

People naturally want to follow an experts advice; it's scary enough for a new MLM business owner when they first get started, but if they see that you're just a bumbling newbie...well, how can you possibly inspire them to have any confidence in your ability to help them become the next MLM success story?

You're the CEO of your own direct sales business so stop acting like an employee for the company or your upline. Take the time to learn to be an expert...

Op Leads / An Expensive Way To Find People Looking For...A Job

Now if you want to truly explode your network marketing business you're going to have to master the phone. I know I know...but I don't want to hear it, so keep the "but I don't wanna' be a telemarketer" whining down to a minimum and just hear me out.

If you want to grow a powerful MLM organization the phone must become your best, best friend; it is without a doubt the quickest and most cost effective way to reach out to your market...bar none.

But let's face it, since you've already figured out that your warm market is about as toasty as a Popsicle in an ice cave you need to find someone else to talk to about your fabulous product or service. You'll need leads...but not just any leads. You'll want to speak to as many people as possible about something they have ideally already shown an interest in your product or service. It should go without saying, right?

But beware of the home business opportunity leads your company may be trying to pimp out on you; not only are they the most expensive leads on the market but they are also the least effective. 75% of these people are just out kicking tires on the internet; most of the others are flat out looking for a job... Neither one is your prospect.

Their are several different types of leads that you can purchase from a lead broker, the least expensive of them being cold targeted leads. These are leads of people who have already purchased in the past something similar to what you are selling.

There's nothing more rewarding than speaking with prospects who have already displayed a want, need or desire for the type of products or services that you just happen to have...except of course the leads that come directly to YOU looking for YOUR specific expertise. Theses are called positioned leads...these leads are by far the most rewarding...

Now these leads are the cream of the crop because these are the leads who have found your information on the internet and have personally contacted you through email, phone or data capture page opt in.

In Closing

Consider the psychology behind continuing to do those methods currently being taught by your company and how they make you feel inside...now let's look at how you would feel inside if you were to position YOURSELF as the expert in your business. There simply is no comparison I can assure you...having done both, I know I will never go back to the old MLM methods. Not only don't they work worth beans, but I'm just beginning to get invited back to barbecues again...and summer is just around the corner.
