WHY PEOPLE CAN’T AND DON’T SUCCEED IN NETWORK MARKETING
The Unpopular Truth About The Overwhelming Lack Of Success In Network Marketing
Who is to blame? Is it the network marketing companies or the people that join them? Or, maybe both.
Inside this article we shall take an honest look at both sides and let you determine that.
We will also get to the bottom of how you can succeed in network marketing no matter what the obstacles are or where you’re at on the company ladder
The definition of success is different for everyone, to some $200 a month is success and for others $ 10,000 a month is success. The average across the board for income earned per year by a network marketer is a less than $2,000 A………………………………….year.
Factor in the startup cost and the product purchase that is required to earn income and all the money spent promoting and most marketers are in the hole a couple thousand bucks. You don’t see that on the company income disclosure. 95% to 97% of marketers have no income success to speak about.
3% to5% of the entire industry makes all of the money. Do you want to know why? Not because they got in first and have a gigantic down line. Because they have professional business marketing skills and bought into the company or were invited to come in. They share in all of the profits of all product sold and company merchandise such as websites, training material, literature, DVD’s, CD’s, Plus the money made off charging you to go to the Corporate Ra! Ra! Regional conventions that take place in every major city in the country and abroad.
These people never sold any of the advertised product or services that the members are selling. The few people that actually made it to the top with a large down line came from other companies and brought an entourage with them. And were usually contacted by the top brass to come over to get the business jump started.
The other people that worked their butt’s off, had some marketing experience or went and got it. That number percentage is so small that is isn’t even on the charts.
There is a marketing company within the company and guess what you’re their market. It is the same with every company but don’t get discouraged, You still have an opportunity to climb the corporate ladder and we will get to that.
Can we blame the companies, not entirely? After all they do have a solid platform and compensation in place and they do spell it out. Before and individual signs up, he or she is required to read all the terms and services and the policies and procedures and sign off on them as part of their sign up process.
The major problems that I see with the companies are their advertising hype, which you view on their websites and on their introductory welcome DVD’s. But they do cover themselves with fine print disclaimers.
The other problem that I site is not with corporate, but instead with its active members. Although they are specifically instructed in their policies and procedures not to over hype and exaggerate claims about their products and potential earnings, a lot of misrepresentation slides through the cracks un-noticed.
The reason for this is setup by the compensation plan and its voracious appetite for recruitment. People aren’t going to make money without a down line or significant amount of customers.
Success can be had by anyone joining the company, and all companies have some kind of success plan available for their members. Their success plans are ineffective and designed for long term growth right around Your 5th year with the company if you make it that long and that success is limited at best.
We will come back to the company success/training program in a minute. Let’s talk about the people that join up with a Multi-Level-Marketing company. All people that join up do it for one reason and one reason only, they want to make extra income or replacement income and they view this as their big chance.
The enormous problem with this industry is that there are absolutely no qualifications or experience required to join, which in short means, everyone gets in. 90% of all people that join, have NO network marketing experience. This is absurd in my mind because these companies are putting their products or services and reputation in the hands of some very inexperienced people.
Let me give an example; let’s say you wanted to be a Doctor. Would you just show up a hospital or other medical facility and say hire me. I like people and want to help them. They would require a very detailed resume’ full of outstanding references and want to know all about your college education and training. And your reply to them was well I don’t have any experience or training, I just want to make money and lots of it.
I know we are not talking about something as critical as the medical field, but we are talking about marketing and this is a very serious field that requires experience and training.
The reason people can’t and don’t succeed is because the only training they receive is through the company and I am sorry but that is not professional marketing training. We don’t live in an era where we go a mile down a dirt road and sell John grain to feed his cattle and then John sells meat and milk to the local villagers.
That is the basic principle behind most company training plans and it is done for a very deliberate reason. They know that 90% of their members have no marketing experience, so they put together a simple plan that everyone can use. Unfortunately it takes forever to get results, if you ever do.
The Silver Lining to this seemingly impossible industry is that you can succeed and in a big way if you take the time to honestly recognize this as a serious and legitimate business and go outside the box and get the necessary training.
Forget about the top company brass and all of their inner workings, that does not pertain to you, what does pertain to you is that the company does support success and their bonus programs are awesome. You can achieve enormous success even starting at the very bottom because of their structured compensation plan.
Investing in your success is a must and an absolute industry standard for anyone working any business at any level, whether it is a privately owned business, a public sector job, corporate job or in the network marketing industry.
Making an investment in training to succeed in your network marketing business has huge advantages and rewards and is an investment that never stops giving back and will enable you to reach desired income levels and beyond.
In Closing, Training for success in network marketing takes a quarter of the time of going to a 4 year college and is about 25 times cheaper, you will see the benefits and results from it in about one year or less.
So who is to blame for a lack of success? Here is a hint: Do you have a mirror in your house. Look in it and you will find the answer. So what are you going to do about it? The opportunity to succeed in a big way is out there for you. You have two choices; learn proper marketing through training or stay in the position that you’re in right now.
