Never throw away the stuff of old, especially if they are things that can be used for the long haul. Take for example those old and rusty pliers, screw drivers and metal pans or other metal matters that were worn out by rust. Those things are some of your once loved tools or materials, and now you're just going to throw them away just because rust are eating them out? You should know that there are things that you still can do to bring back the beauty of your rusty precious tools.
There are a lot of available methods that can clean and solve these problems. First thing to do is take it off from its storage area, decide if you are still going to use it or not, measure the amount of rust and think if it still can be of use after you took away the rust from it. If you do decide to keep and restore, secure a rust removal compound.
These compounds are bio-degradable, non-hazardous, non-toxic, and synthetic; these compounds may be used on all parts, assemblies, complex components and raw material configurations. The rust becomes incorporated into the compound during drying and the coating detaches itself from the metal surface for easy rust removal.
Gone are the days of highly toxic substances for rust removal. There are non acid based rust removers that remove rust faster from stainless steel and ferrous metals. They are substances that are non-toxic, non- flammable and Non- corrosive.
These non- acid based cleaners contain no toxic inhalants and are very safe and proven effective. Does not require certain room temperatures and does not require you to use special equipment for application. They are safe and easy to use on plastics, rubbers, soft metal, PVC and water unharmed surfaces.
The following are steps for Rust Removal Application:
1. Clean the item you removed from your storage area. Clean it to remove dirt oil and corroding rust particles.
2. Rinse and Immerse if using water based remover or spray directly if you are using a rust removal canned sprayer check to see progress from time to time.
3. Once it's done and you see that the rust is ready to detach on the surface it got stuck with, rinse it with water and check for residues. Once this process is done, air it to dry.
4. If it still has residues, re-dip it to the solution and or repeat process again. Once its done and have aired it you can already apply a coating. A suggestion would be to apply a rust protection coat first before applying protective paint so that the next time you store it, no oxidation will occur, thus having it rust free.
5. Air your rusted materials to dry. If the material is deeply rusted, it may require overnight submersion to rust your rust removal product. Let item air dry after spraying. Deeply rusted parts (5mm or deeper) may require overnight soaking.
6. It is not so bad at all! Even an elementary kid can remove rusts for you by doing this procedure. Once again you get to enjoy your stored rusted metal pliers, screw drivers and or metal pans.
