Possibly the easiest type of berber carpet to clean is made of olefin, which is a synthetic material that is very resistant to stains. Olefin carpets are almost entirely stain proof except for those stains, which are oil based.

Whichever type of carpet you have remember never to scrub a stain; this will make the stain go deeper into the carpet and could permanently damage the carpet. Use an absorbent cloth to absorb the stain, and use water to dilute the stain. Your best chance to remove a stain is to work on it immediately.
