Tuscan decor is beautiful yet simplistic and it brings you at one with nature. It is easy to bring a Tuscan style into the home and by using stone it makes it exceptionally easy to have a Tuscan decor.
Tuscan decorating ideas have become more and more popular as time has gone on. Anybody who has ever seen ‘Under the Tuscan Sun’ will realize that Tuscan style decorating can make a home feel elegant, simplistic and enchanting all at the same time. It truly is inspirational and by using Tuscan style decorating to brighten up the home, many people also feel a little closer to nature too and that can really help with creativity.
Using Outdoor Influences to Improve Indoor Rooms
The main thing about Tuscan décor is that it helps you to bring nature into the home. Nature is such a beautiful thing and any artist can tell you how truly inspirational it can be. There is nothing nicer than sitting admiring nature at its most beautiful and so by using outside influences to decorate the home, you are creating a sanctuary where you can relax, find inspiration and feel at home.
In order to create this peaceful and idyllic home setting with Tuscan style decorating, you need to take notice of the colors which you use. Tuscan décor is warm and it uses colors such as oranges and warm reds and browns. Gold colors are also good as they brighten up the home and they make the home seem a lot warmer. As well as the warmer colors however you can also use calmer, earth colors such as different shades of blue, green and rusty reds too.
Why Stone Makes a Big Difference
Another main factor of Tuscan style decorating is stone. Stone is one of the best ways to incorporate nature into the home. They are made up from the elements of the earth and if you really want a true Tuscan feel to the home then you will need to use stone in some way or another.
The main rooms within the home in which stone are better suited includes the bathroom and the kitchen. It can also look fantastic as part of a fireplace and as an archway into a room. A faux stone wall can also look really good within the home it all just depends upon your own individual style.
The main thing to keep in mind is that there are different types of stones which can be used within the home and you need to know the physical qualities of each one before making a decision. This is so that you make the best decision for your needs and also so that you can decide upon the best type of stone for the room you are placing it in. Generally people choose between granite, marble and limestone.
Limestone is frequently used in bathrooms for either flooring or for the shower interior. However, it does tend to stain really easily and it absorbs water and liquids quite well too. So you do have to be careful with limestone and it should not really be used in places where people will constantly be walking over it.
Granite on the other hand is exceptionally good throughout the home. It is heat resistant which makes it ideal in a kitchen and it is also really strong too. It is one of the best types of stone to give a Tuscan style to the home and it is a good choice to make.
Finally marble is commonly used in the bathroom and for floors around the home. With Tuscan style decorating, unpolished marble is used so keep that in mind if you would like to use this type of stone for your Tuscan décor.
Overall Tuscan style decorating is popular and it can create a nice little sanctuary for you to relax in.
