Cleaning Glass with Green Glass Clean

What is Glass Cleaner?

Glass cleaners are specialty household cleaning products used to clean and wash glasses. Glass cleansers are typically spray and wipe type of solvents that can be used on a variety of surfaces, including glass, laminates, dashboard, appliances and painted surfaces. The basic principle of a glass cleaner is loose and dissolve oily soils found on glass and dry quickly without streaking.

These cleaners are based on a concentrated blend of surface-active agents that are coupled with water softeners suitable for cleaning all washable surfaces.

Glass cleaners are formulated products containing: water, detergents, solvents, and other additives. There are a number of detergents, solvents and other additives that can be mixed in varying proportions to produce a glass cleaner. That is why they differ in their performance.

Need of Glass Cleaner:

Keeping glass clean and shiny makes any home look instantly cleaner and fresher. From the glass of windowpanes to the glass stemware to glass windows and windshields in your car, you can keep all of these glass surfaces looking beautiful and clean with very little effort.

Types of Glass Cleaner:

  • Glass Cleaners containing Ammonia
  • Glass Cleaners which is Ammonia Free

One of the most important decisions while purchasing glass cleaners is to decide between products containing ammonia, or those of the ammonia-free nature. The advantages and benefits of ammonia are exploited heavily by the household cleaning products

Industry, however not all ammonia based products are suitable for automotive glass cleaning applications. Because of its intense formulation, ammonia may damage certain types of leather, vinyl or may even remove tinting from the windows. In the case, you wish to use an ammonia-based product, be conscious to avoid applying it to areas that may cause deterioration.

Usage tips:

  • For regular glass cleaning, use a mild alcohol or ammonia glass cleaner.
  • If you need to disinfect the glass surface, use a product, which contains alkyl ammonium chloride to kill germs.
  • Sometimes grease, fingerprints, or other oily deposits are found on the glass surface that you are cleaning. In such a case, use a stronger degreasing cleaner with butoxyethanol. Apply this glass cleaner with a scrub pad. Afterwards, you can use your regular cleaner to finish the job to remove streaks left by the degreaser.

Care Tips:

Mentioned below are some of the care tips that are important to follow while using glass cleaners

  • Avoid glass-cleaning products, which are flammable.
  • Use products, which are packaged in a trigger bottle rather than an aerosol can.
