While deciding on sunroom additions. it is essential to know how you plan to utilize the sunroom. You may want to use it as your kitchen room. bed room. recreational room. attic. bathroom or even office room. Depending on the usage. you will require different construction material and furniture. There are a few things that you should consider before placing the sunroom additions. Make sure that the windows of the sunroom face the South. The South pointed by the compass can be a bit different from the solar south. Thus. watch the movement of the sun and place the windows accordingly. Usually the sunroom additions include walls and roofs made out of glass. But depending on the climatic region where you stay. it may not always be so. If you reside in an area that receives the maximum sun rays. you may opt for the partial glass coverings or make only the sunroom walls of glass. Similarly. if you are residing in a region where it snows frequently. you may opt for partial glass roofing overhead. You can use skylights to filter in extra light of the sun into the house. You may want to enclose the whole area with glass if you are planning to place bath tubs inside the room for a spa like experience. To make you sunroom look like a real room. you can even consider placing knee walls. It will be easier to run electrical outlets through the knee walls.
Another important factor to consider while planning sunroom additions is the placement of the windows and doors. The windows are an economic means of ventilating the sunroom. You can even opt for shade screens that help to filter the rays of the sun before it enters the sunroom. Make sure that the windows are either insulated or glazed. Usually they have Low-E glazing with a thin film of metal in between the two panes of glass windows. If the glass is gray dyed. then it obstructs the entry of harmful UV rays of the sun. You can even opt for the panes filled with argon gas. You can opt for sliding door or the French doors. You can insert vents and fans for drawing in heat and exhaust fans to drive the heat out of the room depending on your requirements. Place electrical outlets in the room to install lights and fans for making it appear bright and airy.

You bedroom can have a master bed surrounded by rugs. cushions. tables and chairs with wall hangings and potted plants. If the sunroom is used as a den or a study. you can place soft cushions. lights. and shelves on one side of the room. with tables and chairs. For making it into a dining room. you can place a big center table made of mahogany or teak. and surround it with similar looking chairs. To make it into a kitchen room. you need to place a small wooden table for chopping vegetables and dressing food. Beside it. on the side wall. you can place rows of shelves to place the oven. cutleries and fruit baskets. Place a small table of wrought iron or wood at the back and place a few chairs for having cups of coffee in the kitchen. You can even make the sunroom your office room by placing computers. desk. table. and shelves for placing the files. Be it your recreational room. bathroom. bedroom. office. kitchen. spa. living room. study. patio. attic. or family room. it is essential to select the right type of furniture to bring in the appropriate look and feel of the place.
