Information on Carpet and Padding Water Damage - Water Restoration

Flooded homes and businesses cause water damage and are extremely common. Water damage comes from le pipes, flooded basements and leaky appliances such as water heater, faucets, etc. It is important to have your water damage taken care of immediately as it can cause mold. Mold is dangerous and can cause health problems.

Water Restoration Companies can come out to your home or business and give you an estimate on how much it will cause for them to take care of the damage. Water Restoration services are located throughout the United States in several cities including: Atlanta, GA, Birmingham, AL, Nashville, TN, and Columbia, SC. Often times your homeowner insurance will not cover the cost of replacing your carpet and padding due to a leaky dishwasher or any other appliances that may have caused the water damage.

If you have a flooded basement you can contact one of your local restoration companies and ask them to hook up a sump pump to detour the water. When searching for the right company to take care of your water damaged home or business it is important to look for reputable companies. While there are a lot of good companies out there who do a great job in water restoration there are also quite a few companies who do a poor job. Look for a well known company rather than a small company.

When it comes to your home you want to make sure the job is done right due to the fact that mold can build up if the water is not extracted properly and the damage is not taken care of in the right manner. Water damage is nothing to take lightly. It can cause many problems and there are many hazardous risks you take by not solving the issue as soon as you are aware of it. Bacteria and dust mites breed in damp or wet areas as do roaches.

Keep in mind that spraying bleach on the mold will not take the mold away. You need a professional to take the proper precautions to remove the mold. Water restoration companies can meet all of your needs when it comes to flooding, leaks, mold, etc.

My sumpump failed to work this weekend when I was away! I came back to my finished basement having 2 inches of water. I have burber rugs and there is no padding underneath! We wet/dry vacced the entire area (1,300 sq feet). I have fans and dehumidifiers blowing downstairs! I assume it will take about a week for the carpet to dry. What would be the next step in getting the bacteria out of the rugs in the basement? We donot have the money to hire professionals. Do you have any suggestions? Thanx, Linda
