Insulated Hot Tubs for the Alps Region

If you live in an area with diverse weather conditions, you’ll want the kind of spa or hot tub that functions at its best in any climate. Understandably, if you like to enjoy a hot tub spa outside during the coldest winters and you fancy dipping into a warm spa to beat the Winter chill, or you love cooling off on a roasting summer’s day, you’ll want a spa that can face the cold and heat equally well.

For this type of all year round, all weather use, the best choice will be a spa that uses a heatlock system. These spas/hot tubs are built to specifically withstand the coldest temperatures down to a shocking -40 degree, so perfect for the temperatures of anywhere in Western Europe. They’re also great for hot climates, so whatever the weather, these hot tubs are the choice selection of spa for the discerning customer.

During the coldest climes, it’s important to ensure that your hot tub or spa has great insulation for several important reasons:

Firstly, it keeps the heat from escaping which means that you’ll use your energy more efficiently, using less electricity and helping to do your bit for the planet. Adequate insulation also diminishes the sound of the equipment inside the spa or hot tub, offering a more peaceful experience. It also reduces vibration, which means that the water pipes and other plumbing elements maintain their positions and integrity, even after prolonged usage.

When you’re looking for a hot tub, you may find that there are different approaches to spa insulation. The most successful way of insulating a hot tub is by using high density foam. Some manufacturers spray high density foam around the shell of the tub. They then insulate the floor, the walls and the roof, just like a house. The heat created from the pumps stays inside the cabinet and instead of watching your expensive heat escaping it is transferred back into the shell.

Fully foamed spas may offer value and promise initially, but after a while the foam will become waterlogged and the running costs will be dramatically increased as the soggy foam will hold the water and transfer the cold back into the spa water.

A salesman will tell you that their fully foamed spa will never leak therefore is the best spa available, but like every water pipe, it can leak, so buying a spa that is fully foamed is like buying a car with the bonnet welded shut.

It’s important to maintain your hot tub well and that includes the insulation. It may require expert servicing, but this is just part and parcel of purchasing the best hot tubs. You’ll always be better off buying a hot tub from a spa specialist with a great reputation, a good warranty and well-built, long lasting component parts. In the end, buying the best means spending much less in the long run and you’ll get the very most out of your spa or hot tub all year round.
