Proper Care For an Adriondeck Chair

So you have decided to make the investment in that great American piece of furniture - the Adriondeck chair. It makes perfect sense that you would want to protect this investment, after all - it is the perfect blend of function, style, and comfort. But for what it is costing you (and the space investment it takes), you want it to last as long as humanly possible on your deck. But Mother Nature has different plans for your patio furniture, and will be happy to break it down as soon as you build it up. Stationary targets are the perfect breeding grounds for bugs, mold, and dirt.

If you are an educated consumer, you know that there are ways to protect your Adriondeck chair from everything that the elements can throw at it, against it, or about it. By knowing how you can protect this vital piece of patio furniture from letting the elements attack them, you will be guaranteeing a long life full of enjoyment and pleasure out of your addition.

First off, it is important to know when it is time to refinish your furnishings. Many woods, like cedar and teak, don't need to be finished with a stain or a paint, but can be taken care of with a natural oil treatment. Other woods, however, like pine or cypress, can be painted and stained to fit the look of the rest of your patio furniture. To keep your cedar and teak woods looking their best, remember to keep them treated with the appropriate oil supplement throughout the season. This will ensure that they keep looking brand new throughout the years. Over time, the golden color of teak and the light red hue of cedar will dull over time, giving them a rustic look. While some prefer this, you may not - this is the appropriate time to sand down your wood, and refinish.

If you want your Adriondeck chair to have the painted look about it, there's nothing wrong with that - if your chair is made of the appropriate woods, feel free to take the paint can out and have a good time! But before you paint, keep in mind the work that it takes in order to keep it going. Before painting, lay down a solid coat of primer on your wood. This will ensure that your wood will accept a smooth, even coat of paint. Secondly, choose a good outdoor paint that will give your wood a nice barrier from the elements, as well as stand strong throughout all of them without peeling or fading. Once painted, let dry well before allowing your friends and family to sit. Also remember that the average life span for a good coat of paint is around three years - if you decide to make this your preferred plan of protection, make sure you are ready to repaint.

Regardless of what your Adriondeck Chair is made out of, keeping it clean should be the least of your concerns. If you have a presser washer, keeping it clean and dainty just got all the simpler - just point and wash to keep the debris and dirt away. If you don't have a pressure washer, a little soap and water will do the same thing if your wood is properly treated. If your patio furniture is treated with a stain or paint, use a mild cleaner and scrub away the dirt. If not, then use a wood cleaner, which can be found at your local hardware store.

Making sure your Adriondeck Chair will last does not have to be a hard task at all. Once you know how to properly care for them, and combine that with a little know how, you will be ready to make the most out of your furnishings for years to come, guaranteeing the most out of your investment.
