Public given carpet museum logo say

A new initiative is hoping to encourage shoppers in Kidderminster to choose a logo for the region's new carpet museum.

According to the Kidderminster Shuttle, the organisers of the event hope it will allow local people to have their say in the development of the new attraction and reflect the area's long-term links with the carpet industry.

Sarah Dudley, director of Seed Design with the Carpet Museum Trust, explained the public will be asked to give their opinion on a logo for the museum.

Ms Dudley said: "By including the public in this crucial part of the branding, Seed is able to reflect the unique storytelling of Kidderminster's heritage in a much more engaging and relevant manner."

The carpet museum will be based in the Grade II listed Stour Vale Mill in the centre of the town and the project has already secured £1.7 million of funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Last week, the publication Professional Carwashing and Detailing stressed that dirty carpets could contribute to poorer air quality and encourage unwanted bacteria and dust mites.

Anyone hoping to keep their own carpet in museum-like condition could benefit from contacting a cleaning company and finding out more about the range of carpet cleaning services and anti-stain treatments currently available to domestic cleaning customers.
