Purchasing And Installing A 3 Person Sauna

If you live in the city or in an apartment then you most likely do not have traditional Finnish sauna in the backyard. In many cases environmental laws and the cost of wood to fire up a traditional sauna may make it impossible to own and operate one in an urban setting. Many traditional saunas are built big enough to handle a full family plus some your shirt tail relatives. Many are the size of a small garage. All of which makes it impossible for many people to enjoy all the benefits of a sauna.

However you can have an indoor 3 person sauna installed in most homes and even in some larger apartments. A 3 person sauna can be built from a kit in just about any interior room. An infrared 3 person sauna normally stands less than 80 inches in height and is less than 60 inches wide. Its depth is normally less than 48 inches. If you have an area that has access to a 120 volt house hold plug in and is 5 feet by 4 feet in size then you have room for the basic 3 person sauna.

It is important to know what the floor load bearing rating is for the room you are placing the sauna into. A 3 person sauna can weigh as much as 450 pounds. While this sounds like a lot of weight you must understand that it is spread over an approximate 20 foot square area. Many large pieces of furniture will exceed 500 lbs in weight. If you have a concern about the ability or your home or apartment being able to withstand the load then you should contact the manufacture for guidance. Many people find it is more convenient to place their 3 person sauna in the basement on a concrete floor.

Almost all Infrared 3 person sauna are classified as a dry sauna and as such does not need a drain or cold water plumbing. The only moisture that is found in a dry sauna comes from the user's perspiration. The walls of the best quality 3 person sauna are constructed of cedar. Many manufactures use lesser quality woods however each of these species is usually more than sufficient for good sauna construction.

In general a top quality indoor 3 person sauna kit can be assembled in less than a couple of hours. Many manufactures boast that you can unpack, assemble and use their kits on the same day. Outdoor 3 person saunas will take more assembly time and require more skill in assembly. Most outdoor saunas require an electrician to assure a good ground fault electrical connection. Dual digital controls, one inside and one outside, are a must for any good sauna.

The price for a good indoor 3 person sauna can range from $1100 to $3200. Traditional saunas prices range between $4000 and $6000. Many models feature CD players, Radios and special lighting features as part of the kit package. Currently many indoor infrared sauna manufactures provide special shipping discounts and in some cases shipping is free depending where you live.

Purchasing and installing a good quality 3 person sauna is a great investment into your health and well being. It is also a great investment in the value of your home as well. There is no reason for not enjoying most of the great benefits of a traditional sauna right in your own home or apartment.
