As the financial year winds its way down, starting 1 July, homeowners will be able to take advantage of the exciting Homeowner Insulation Rebate to give their an eco renovation.
What's the Insulation Rebate?
Starting from 1 July, the Australian Government will be launching the main component of its Homeowner Insulation Program. The exciting new program will mean essentially zero up front costs for insulation installations that costs less $1600 for most households.
Also starting from July, homeowners will also be able to access an online register of qualified insulation installers.
Meanwhile, landlords and tenants will also be able to take advantage of the benefits of insulation through the Low Emission Assistance Plan for Renters, which essentially qualifies rental properties to receive assistance of up to $1000 for insulation installation. The average cost for installing insulation is estimated to be about $1200 per home.
How to get your insulation installed
From 1 July, installing your insulation will be fast and efficient with no up front costs for systems that costs less than $1600. To get you started is here our handy guide to get you started.
1. Find out if you're eligible for the Program. There are some limitations to who can apply for Homeowner Insulation, especially for those homeowners who are also considering solar hot water rebates from the Federal government.
Landlords and tenants can check their eligibility for the Low Emission Assistance Plan for Renters.
2. Visit the Insulation Installers Register to find a registered installer that serves your area. (You can also find a number of them on the Green Pages directory). Note that only registered installers will be able to take advantage of the rebate.

3. Discuss the options with your installer. There are lots of different types of insulation that could be suitable for your home depending on your climate region and heat flow in your house. Your registered installer will able to give you more info.
