Treatment of pictures and picture frames

Strive to have the subject of your pictures appropriate to the room in which they are to be hung.

The first thing should be considered in choosing pictures for a room is their decorative value. Decorative value is something about whether color is suitable and size is fit, and the subjects are decent and sympathetic.

If the paintings are not real objects of art, you should not use heavy gold frames for one gets far more distinction by using a narrow black moulding. When in doubt always err on the side of simplicity.

If your target is to use less money and make it simplicity, and at the same time you are just starting to design your house and have no pictures, we would advice good pictures which can make your furniture feel new. This method is called passepartout method.

If the the color of prints are old, they should use passepartout which is narrow and black, and if the prints are quaint, old black-and-white ,they should have broad passepartout which is in pink, blue or yellow to fit the primary tone in wall paper.

Never use white margins on any pictures unless your walls are white. The decorative value of any picture when hung, relys on its backdrop, the height at which it is hung, its position with regard to the light, its juxtaposition to other pictures, and the character of those other pictures--that is, their subjects, color and line.

If you are buying pictures to hang in a picture gallery, there is nothing to consider beyond the attraction of the individual picture in mind. But when you decide to buy a picture to put on the walls of a room which you are designing, you have to to consider it as pure decoration. At the same time, you have to think over the things such as color, period and subject which can carry out the idea of your room.

A modern picture is usually out of place in a room designed with antiques. At the same time, if a picture is old, putting it in a strictly modern room is not suitable, if toned by time.

Important elements for a project of type are containers and plants. You can use almost any container size, so it is big enough to hold the ball of the plant with room to grow. Do not try to cheat and grow your plants in a container that is only just big enough to hold, believe me, that's not well in the long term.

Prior to 1797, the washing machine was little more than a rock against which laundry was beaten. In that year, the washing board was invented, making the process of cleaning one’s laundry astronomically easier. Now, as we’re fresh into the 21st century, we cannot imagine scrubbing our laundry against a washing board, let alone stumbling down to the river’s edge and beating our clothes against a rock. From piping audio and video through the home to automatically watering the lawn, there are

The first consideration in choosing window shades when furnishing a house, is to make their color harmonises with the outside. According to this, the choice of those colors and tones should be consistent with your color schemes for the internal treatment. When you select white net or scrim, the shades must use white, and when yellow, there must be yellow. If the outside of your house calls for one color in shades and the interior calls for another, use two sets. Your dark-green sun shades ne

By: wopiwoperi | 30/04/2009 | Home Improvement
In a measure, the materials for hangings and furniture-coverings are determined more or less by the amount one wishes to spend in this direction. For choice, one would say silk or velvet for formal rooms; velvets, corduroys or chintz for living-rooms; leather and corduroy with rep hangings for a man's study or smoking-room; thin silks and chintz for bedrooms; chintz for nurseries, breakfast-rooms and porches. If your furniture is choice, rarely beautiful in quality, line and color, hangings a

If you want to use double beds and have no wall to break the space, treat one like a sofa or couch. You can tell the carpenter to remove the pedal, then place the bed in a position convenient to the light either by day or night, after which it’s better to put a cover of cotton cloth or silk over it and cushions of the same.Never put a speckled material on a speckled material. If you like the whole decoration in you room, but find there is too much cool tone, try deep cream tulle for curtains
