Are you tired of the same old homey look that your living room projects to your guests when you have a family get-together? If you have a high-ceilinged kitchen, do you wish to have something that your dinner guests can ooh and ahh over as you serve your sumptuous home cooked meals?
Then it's probably high time for you to turn your living room or kitchen from ordinary to classy. The best way to achieve this is by installing an elegant lighting fixture in the form of a chandelier.
Why Use Chandeliers to Decorate Your Living Room or Kitchen
Basically, if you have a high-ceilinged living room or kitchen, having a chandelier installed is one of the best ways to add drama to your decorating scheme. Not only will a chandelier provide a much-needed focal point to a room, but the illumination will also add a warm glow to your surroundings.
If you want the chandelier to be the main lighting source, it can be installed in a spot where such an effect will be achieved. Or, you can add a few more solid lighting sources in strategic spots that will not distract the attention away from the chandelier piece.
And if you think that this type of a lighting fixture can only be afforded by those who are living in million dollar homes, think again. Today, there is a myriad of choices that you have when it comes to the types of chandeliers that can be installed in the home.
Don't let your budget stop you from bringing that boost to your decorating scheme that you think your house needs. There are a lot of companies right now which offer really affordable yet classy and elegant chandeliers to light up your home.
The good news is that they come in a variety of designs and materials as well. As such, you can create the look that you want a particular room in the house to have while achieving the lighting effect that you want at the same time.
The Three Main Types of Chandeliers
Now, when making a selection for the type of chandelier that you can use to light up your home, there are four main categories that you can choose from:
1. Chandeliers made of crystal material
Crystal chandeliers are always a hit to those who would like to add a touch of elegance to their homes. Make sure that the crystal chandelier that you will get is suited for the height of your ceiling - and the shape should be just right. It should not dominate the entire room in such a way that the space will look smaller than it actually is.
2. Glass chandeliers
Another popular type of chandeliers are the ones made from glass material. Typically, they are made of square glass panels so that when the bulbs are lit up, the glass will reflect the light off of each other to create that elegant glow.
3. Non-glass chandeliers
Alabaster, bronze, silver, beads, capiz shells, nickel and chrome are the non-glass chandeliers that you can opt for.
When choosing from these types of chandeliers, make sure that the material, shape and size of the lighting fixture will complement the existing décor of the room. This way, you can turn your home into being ordinary to classy in an instant!
