When choosing the perfect heater for your sauna, it is essential that you do all the proper research before investing in one. A quick look around the Internet will reveal many different brands that all make the same promises, but how do you know which one to choose? The most important things you need to consider when choosing your sauna heater are the following: What kind of energy saving features does it offer? What kind of safety features does it have? What does it look like and will it fit the overall look of your sauna? What exactly do you get for the price you are paying?
There are a few different manufacturers of quality sauna heaters, most of them based in Scandinavia-birthplace of the sauna. Companies such as Amerec, Finlandia, Finnleo, Saunacore, and Tylo all offer quality sauna heaters, but there are differences among the brands.
Amerec sauna heaters are made in Finland and feature Stainless Steel heating elements and bodies and a large rock capacity. They have many different designs, some of which have built-in generators. Amerec's Pro series, their top-of-the-line models, can heat up to 950 square feet.
Finlandia sauna heaters, which are surprisingly made in Sweden, are a bit pricier than other heaters, but have many extra features built into them. They feature Stainless Steel interiors and heating elements and a larger rock capacity than many other heaters. They also feature handy timers which allow you to set your sauna up to eight hours in advance, so you don't have to wait for it to warm up. You can just get in at the prescribed time and you're ready to go.
If you like to buy items made in the USA, you might try Finnleo sauna heaters. Finnleo originated in Finland, but now those sold in the United States are made there, which may work to your benefit if that's where you live. Finnleo heaters feature a large rock capacity, a triple-wall structure that maintains minimal surface temperatures to prevent skin burns, and an optional Stainless Steel finish.
Saunacore sauna heaters offer outstanding energy saving features and safety measures packaged with a sleek design. They also feature an innovative ventilation system that allows them to run up to fifty degrees cooler than most other sauna heaters out there on the market.
Tylo sauna heaters, another Swedish-based company, offer exceptional quality at a very affordable price. Tylo heaters have a thermo safe covering that keeps the front and sides completely cool during use. They were also voted best in independent tests for quick heat-up and energy savings.
In the end, it is up to you to choose what sauna heater works best for your sauna and your budget. As with everything else, you generally get what you pay for. It's up to you to decide what features you need and what you don't. A tough little sauna heater with no frills may do exactly the job you need, while those who prefer all the bells and whistles can go that route and be equally satisfied. It's all up to you.
