There is nothing more warm and inviting than the look of wooden Venetian blinds adorning a window of any room in your home. In addition to adding ambience, they also provide excellent temperature control and block lighting. Furthermore, with a large variety of colors available, you are really spoilt for choice.

There are a lot of varieties in wooden blinds, such as vertical blinds, woven wooden blinds, faux wood blinds and wood mini blinds. They are available in a range of colors, stains, sizes and shades and can be made from different kinds of wood. Window wood blinds can be made to order and can be fitted with additional features such as fabric tapes, cord-want tilt and motorization, UV control, light-blocking, and anti static control.

Wood binds should be used for rooms that have a stable temperature and relatively low humidity in order to make them long lasting.

Basswood binds is the top grade wood for wooden blinds. The bass wood is light, and therefore raising the blinds is convenient. Basswood is also more appropriate for stained wooden blinds. While wooden blinds tend to be more expensive, their timeless beauty and durability when decorating a room make them the number one choice.

Faux wood blinds are another option, and are more commonly used because they are less expensive and have a genuine appearance. Another advantage is that they are not easily affected by temperature fluctuations and are more stable. They are available in colors ranging from solid colors to 'stained' finishes.

These blinds are ideal for use in the bathroom, because they come pretreated to resist moisture and heat better than traditional wooden blinds.

Woven blinds on the other hand, are made from select natural wood and are uniquely textured. This tends to add a relaxed, casual look to any room. Since the blinds are made from bamboos, reeds and grasses, they create a calming effect to the whole room.

It is also important to determine the size of the slats when buying wooden blinds because they will be different sizes for doors and for windows.

Overall, wooden blinds found on windows and doors are major decorating elements. They also provide privacy and add beauty to the rest of the room. The natural look that they give makes them a better choice over traditional curtains or shutters, and they look pretty from both the inside and the outside.

Wooden blinds are attractive, easily customized to fit into any décor, and are very popular. They definitely add a touch of class and give the room a unique style.
