If you want to take this kind of surveillance one further however, there are now also various gadgets and appliances that allow you to view your home remotely via the internet using webcams. This way you can check on the status of your home from anywhere in the world and some even come mounted onto robots or wheels to allow you to check multiple rooms.

                While an alarm or webcam system will work well for while you’re away from your home, while you’re inside you might want to be able to check who’s outside without leaving your home. For this reason a buzzer and speakerphone system can be a good way to check on your guests before letting them in. Even better is a video camera which will allow you to check outside your home without having to alert those outside that you are outside/awake.
