Have you recently experienced fire damage to your house? Is your house vacant and needs to be secured? Has a window in your house been broken by a vandal? This article will give a description of what board up is and in what situations you would need to utilize emergency board up services.

Board up is a term that refers to installing plywood boards on your home, usually on the exterior of the house to cover windows and doors.  There are many types of situations where you may need to utilize board up services.

Vehicles may occasionally lose control and can sometimes crash into the side of a property. The fire department would need to assess the damage to the property to certify that it is safe to enter. At that point a professional should be contacted to provide emergency board up service.

When a house experiences fire damage, you may need to board up the roof or other structural holes in your house that are exposed to open air. If the house has been condemned by the fire department, you will most likely need to board up all of the doors and windows to prevent unsafe entry. If a house is going to be vacant for months at a time, it is advisable to board it up to secure the property and prevent anyone from entering.

Occasionally, a property may be broken into through a window or glass door, and this can happen at inconvenient time such as in the middle of the night. Glass replacement companies will not usually be able to provide service to replace the glass at that time, so you would need to utilize emergency board up service until the glass can be replaced during business hours.

Residents of a hurricane zone know that when a storm is coming it is very important to board up your windows to prevent and damage to your house. Windows that are broken may eventually lead to water damage from a heavy storm. Most companies that provide board up services also have emergency crews available to respond to your board up needs twenty four hours a day.
