Home security systems have come a long way since ADT first began installing them in the early nineteen-seventies. Because an ADT system can be connected by a wireless system and also has a battery back-up power source, it is fool proof and will operate perfectly if the power is turned off or the phone line is cut.
The modern ADT system also now comes with an ultra-loud siren that is located on or in the home that will let the whole neighborhood know if there is trouble at your home. With ADT, covering your home and property with an invisible blanket of security from break ins isn't enough, because there is so much more that an ADT security system does.
Complete fire detection is also available that uses state of the art heat sensors that are positioned inside of the home that will automatically signal the system to call the fire department if they sense unusual levels of heat in the interior of the residence. The fire detection system also will sound the alarm to wake up sleeping residents as well.
Another important component of an ADT security system is the carbon monoxide detection capabilities that it has, using another type of state of the art sensor. Due to malfunctioning gas heaters carbon monoxide gas kills a surprising number of people in the U.S. each year. The most frightening aspect of carbon monoxide is that it has no smell or color. There aren't even any symptoms that you are being poisoned by it, because you simply fall asleep and never wake up again when it kills.
