Things really have come a long way in home security systems since they first began becoming popular with the general public around thirty years ago. That was when they began to become affordable and companies such as ADT began to branch out into this new type of security service. Back then, a home security system consisted of a few basic components that protected the doors and windows of a residence from break-in.

The truth of the matter, is that in those early days home and business security systems just weren't as tamper proof as they are now and if someone knew their basic functions and was determined, they could be bypassed. Modern advancements in technology have brought about many changes to home and business security systems and now not only are they far more tamper proof but they also are of a much higher level of technology.

With a modern wireless home security system there are no wires to cut and the batteries that power the individual components last up to three years each. There is no need to worry about the batteries either, because each battery powered component will signal the control panel when it needs to be changed. Another safety measure is a back-up power source that can run the alarm system for weeks if need be, due to the main power being shut off.

Still yet there is the ability for a homeowner to call their control panel to check up on their security system and their home or business. So now there several layers of protection and safeguards on your security system as it protects and safeguards your home or business. Its also truly amazing to see how much more a security system does with regards to protecting a home or business with all the new technology that is now available.

Body heat and motion detectors have come a long way since their advent not too long ago and they are now commonly used in security systems for homes and businesses. They are now so accurately calibrated that they can easily differentiate between small animals, such as dogs and cats and a man. This means that there are never any false alarms being signaled by these new devices. These heat and motion detectors now allow for a security perimeter to be established around the perimiter of home or business and it can reach up to thirty-five feet.

With this security perimeter, it is no longer necessary to wait for an intruder to cause any damage and actually enter the building, because the alarm is tripped as soon as they aproach the outside of the building. With all of this new technology, a multi layered security system can be installed on a home or business that virtually guarantees that an intruder will be detected and repelled or apprehended. With all of these new technology being so affordable now it just doesn't make any sense why anyone who has anything that they value would go about their lives being completely unprotected.
