In England it is reported that your image is captured several hundred times a day by hidden and surveillance cameras. There are currently 4.2 million CCTV cameras in Britain. More are planned in next few years. There is one for every 14 people in the country.
There is some anecdotal evidence that the U.S. is in the process of catching up. It seems every night there is some hidden camera story on the news:
--a burglary at a convenience store
--a robbery at a big box store
--a nanny cam incident
--perverts trying to hook up with underage kids
--the latest FBI sting
--a congressman on vacation at a special interest group's expense
Those are some examples-the list is huge.
That is just what you see on the early news.
Of course most of the cameras in our area are traditional security cameras. Check out a casino, big box store, airport, local intersections the list grows every day.
Then toss in the "you tube" craze, nanny cams, home security systems and you have a whole different set of needs for spy cameras. And it is growing like crazy-the weirder the better. There seems to be no end to the crazy videos out there.
A local shop that sells hidden cameras reports:
--a 45% increase in residential sales.
--Hidden camera sales are up, too.
--the trend shows no sign of stopping.
Hidden cameras can be put into just about anything from a mirror to a water bottle, from a radio boom box to a baseball cap-just about anything. The more common the object is the better.
Another contributing factor to the growth of hidden cameras is cost. As the cost of hidden cameras comes down, they become more accessible to more folks.
So if you want to know what is going on when you are not around at home, at work, at your business or wherever get a hidden camera and FIND OUT. Everyone else will be watching you-don't miss the boat.
