One thing that far too many people fail to take note of is that home security systems are a great investment. With the weakening housing market in the U.S. making it harder to sell a home, many homeowners are resorting to the age old method of making a product more attractive to a buyer, they are lowering the price on their home.
Of course many times this is unavoidable but what they are failing to recognize in many cases is what professional home marketers already know and that is that often adding some incentives often works just as well and can save a lot of money. A home without a security system in this day and age is looked upon as a liability to a lot of people.
You may have lived in your neighborhood for years and feel perfectly comfortable there but to a new home buyer your area is unfamiliar territory. Studies have shown that moving to a new location is almost as stressful as losing ones job, so anything that you can do to put a potential home buyer at ease while they are looking at your home will only help.
Prices have steadily declined on home security system since they first started to appear in homes some three decade ago and at the same time the level of technology that goes into them has steadily risen. This means that you can have an impressive, user friendly security system installed in your home for very little money and now through ADT you can have that system fully monitored for around forty dollars a month.
Home security systems are far more user friendly and easy to operate then they used to be and they also have so many more choices as to how they are operated. For instance, if you are leaving your home, you will want to set your alarm system to go off and notify the monitoring station should it be triggered . If you are home though, there is now a setting that allows you to know if any of the doors or windows in the home have been opened by someone coming or going by the system giving you a few short beeps.
Another convenient feature of todays security systems is that they are now so much more easy and convenient to arm or disarm when you are coming and going from your home. You can still get a system that uses a coded key-pad that has to be keyed every time you enter or leave the residence but there are also other options as well.
For instance you now have the option of using a key-chain button clicker similar to the type that you use on your car alarm, to arm or disarm your homes security system with one touch of a button. There is also new voice recognition technology that is available that allows you to give voice commands to your alarm system.
