The Philosophy Behind Homeschooling

Home schooling is also called home education as this is an educational system that is basically taught at home, typically by grandparents, parents or tutors rather than the children going to school.

Parents are generally under stress and concerned about their children's safety and education and they fear that they are not doing enough for their little ones. Many parents hate the regular schooling experience as they find their children tied down to the regular educational model of education that is well defined by books, regular classes, workbooks, grades, and the old regular norms.

Some parents find textbooks and regular curriculums somewhat artificial because they avoid the children from expressing their full growth. Regular education usually gives children maximum knowledge but generally, this is a myth that's going on through conventional modes of education. Traditional education actually dilutes child's learning and makes it boring and tedious, unrelated to their real life at home.

Children love to read colorful books and they love to be read to. They generally learn by explore new things and love to be on their own. Home schooling mainly concentrates on five basic areas, like-

Discipleship- Homeschooling starts by grasping God's words that give wisdom. Children must learn to love God and understand his teachings.

Disciplined- Homeschool teaches basic subjects like math and language, and arts that are the base of any learning system.

Discussion- During homeschooling, the kids spend maximum time on reading history, literature and other subjects. Parents feel that they should nourish the child's mind with the best out from the traditional schools and inculcate some education on the fine arts.

Discovery- Parents always direct children into natural learning by teaching them the basics about nature, science, creative arts and all that interests them. Basic goal of a parent is to stimulate the child towards new opportunities for creativity, curiosity and discovery.

Optional studies- Home schooling develops children gradually, according to their abilities, by concentrating on their natural talents and interests, life skills and development of the community.

Home generally gives children warmth and freedom. Education usually disciplines a child and develops the child's relationship with their parents. This point is utilized by home centered learning model.

Parent gain freedom when they know that their child has adjusted well to home schooling pattern. God has send parents as guides. Independence and joy flows with cooperation and love as that the path shown by God. Parents usually forget learning is basically achieved when the children grasp and their requirement. Parents usually force their children to learn as per their choice and then they think that they are providing them with the best education. In this way, the children land up feeling miserable, as they are not learning things that they need to or love to. The difference in homeschooling and normal schooling is that in homeschooling the education is focused on the child's individual behavior and learning style, and also focuses mainly on the child's individual interest to learn and the ability to understand. On the other hand, in normal schooling the educational system is highly generalized.
