You will be spoilt for choice for places to visit and stay in Birmingham. It houses the award winning Visitor Centre Bourneville which is the Cadbury World headquarters. All Chocoholics will find Cadbury world a wonderful day out. With chocolate at retail prices and misshapes you can come away with a right chocolate bargain.

The bullring is the heart shopping in Birmingham. With over 160 shops to explore from the normal high street stores to the more exquisite shops there is something for everyone. For food the centre has over 25 restaurants. If you like a curry then Birmingham then houses some of the best Balti restaurants, it is known as the Balti capital of the world.
At a cost of £114 million the Millennium Point is one the the UK’s major millennium projects. It houses the museum of science of discovery and is a popular place for tourists. Nature lovers would enjoy the Botanical Gardens and the Winterbourne Gardens.
There are five major canals within the city for walkers. The town of Birmingham has produced some world famous people such as the author of “Lord of the Rings” and “The Hobbit” J.R.R. Tolkien. World Champion Formula One racing driver Nigel Mansell came from Birmingham as does Lisa Clayton who sailed around the world single-handedly in her yacht called “The Spirit of Birmingham”.

The NEC arena is renowned for bringing lots of world wide stars to perform. It can house 12,300 seats and receives over a million visitors every year. Since opening in 1980 many stars have performed at the arena including, Diana Ross, Elton John, Status Quo, Tina Turner, UK and Kylie. As well as music artists the NEC hosts a number of exhibitions throughout the year. The Clothes Show and the Horse of the year show.

There are plenty of good places to stay in the area. For affordable prices with plenty of free parking and relaxing gardens you might like to consider Norfolk Hotel in Edgbaston. It is ideally located for all the attractions within Birmingham.

At the other end of the scale you could stay in a contemporary hotel which is situated in stylish Brindley in the heart of Birmingham. City Inn Birmingham is a little more pricy than the previous hotel mentioned but it is more of a luxurious hotel. All 238 guest rooms have en-suite bathrooms, air-conditioning and full sound-proofing. The rooms are also decorated in a nice light fresh feel. Each room has broadband internet access, flat screen TV, DVD and CD player.

Whatever type of hotel or B & B you wish to stay in and whether you chose the lower end of the market or top end you will find Birmingham a truly wonderful place.
