Salovani-travellingtolisbon is a portuguese familiar owned company. Their apartments are located in the heart of the old Lisbon centre, some of them with stunning panoramic views of the castle and city. The main tourist sights are within easy walking distance.
Portugal is one of the best destinations in the Western Europe. The country with a diverse culture and amazing environment offers great views and attractions to the tourists. The country has it all, Rocky Mountains, deserts and slopes. One of the most loved cities in the country is Lisbon. The city stands as the capital city and hosts a vast variety of cultures that make it different. Facing the beach, Lisbon has always wooed the travelers with the state of the art limestone buildings and the gorgeous alleyways. The fascination of the city makes it worth visiting round the year.
Apart from the comfortable stay that the city offers to the travelers, there are a number of destinations that have become an inseparable part of every tourist’s itinerary. The gulbenkian museum is one of those places that have attracted a large number of tourists over the years. This museum was made for Calouste Gulbenkian. He was an Armenian and had always wanted to display his wealth in a museum. The museum will be an eye soother for people who love to see the exquisite artifacts and paintings. Just like the museum, there is another place that would attract the history lovers; that is Castelo de São Jorge. This is the castle of St. George and is located upon a hill. The place offers great view of the city and the river.
The expansiveness of the architecture in the city can be seen in the elevator created by Santa justa. This elevator beautifully connects the downtown with Trindade which is located on a hill. This is an appropriate place for some other great and bird eye views of the city. The best way to roam around in the city is the metro and the electrico or the trams that operate in a wider network in the city. Metro connects to a glorious plaza which has been named Praça do Comércio. This is the place from where Lisbon’s downtown begins. After you pay a visit to the plaza, make sure you go to the Belem tower. This part of the neighborhood has a number of monuments and this is what makes it different from other places in the city. The most famous of the places here are the Jerónimos Monastery, the Belem cultural center and the presidential and the royal palace. History lovers can also get to see the huge collection of royal coaches and vehicles in the coach museum.
Shopping fanatics can roam around in Chiado or head towards the hill to the Bairro Alto. The city has everything for the people who love to have a good time and take pleasure in exploring new places. The mention of the downtown of Lisbon becomes necess
ary when listing out the best places. The downtown is called Baixa. Marquis de Pombal rebuilt this town in a planned manner after a severe earthquake destroyed it. He also built the Ponte 25 de Abril which is a bridge built over the Tagus River to connect Setubal peninsula with Lisbon city. Other places that you can visit are the botanical gardens and the aquariums. There would be an entry fee for all these places but that would be nothing compared to the experience you gather.
Alfama is also one of the neighborhoods in the city and shows the presence of the Muslims in the city. If you are a night bird, the city also has some great nightclubs where you can make the most of your time. Have a nice time in the city with the windy weather and great hospitable people.
