Enrico Cipolletta and Angela Silla were general manager and sales & marketing manager of large luxury hotels until they opted for the simple and genuine pleasure of changing their lives, by switching to the rhythms of the Tuscan countryside. Today their new life is Locanda la Pieve, near Saturnia SPA, in Semproniano, Maremma to be precise.
They bought this place deep in lite heart of nature and transformed it into an eight-room treasure, with a cosy yet sophisticated atmosphere.
Almost "another world".
Traditional cuisine has always been, and always will be, one of the Locanda’s strengths. The atmosphere of a family meal blends with old-world ambience at the table as you feast on fresh pasta, game, cheeses, honey and sweets from the Maremma. Breakfast without daily alarm clock; relish genuine dishes as you pass the day in harmony with your biorhythms.
Morning brekafst? Moments of sheer bliss to be savoured along, with the tranquil countryside, in the restaurant and on the flowered terrace. Apart from its flavours, the Maremma is also reflected in the atmospheric colours and styles.
The rooms, which are all different - each has its own name - boast all modern comforts, which blend harmoniously with the locai furnishings and details.
The surrounding areas are graced by the Terme di Saturnia spa resort, or trips can be organized to the Wild Animal Recovery Centre which takes in wounded animals from all over Italy, to the Bosco dei Rocconi WWF Oasis, or to the Fauna Park in Monte Labro. Don't miss the "tuff-stone towns" Sovana, Sorano and Pitigliano, or Monte¬merano, Rocchetto di Fazio, Roccalbegna, Santa Fiora and Amiata, the mountain beloved of Bud¬dhists.
Maremma a place to stay, a place to discovery, a place to love.
The motto of Enrico and Angela is “slow life”, they welcome you!

Storing prepackaged beans
By: eknow | 23-07-2008
There are tons of sites that say you should store food in "Food Grade" containers. I have been stockpiling beans. I've been purchasing 1 pound bags of beans for several weeks now, whenever I go shopping. I now have about 200 lbs of beans. I didn't want to just leave them on the shelf in my pantry even though they are already packaged. Is it okay (since they are already prepackaged) to store them in plastic storage bins? I got the bins from Walmart. They are grey plastic bins with tops, used for storing things, like toys, clothing etc. Thank you.
