Key Elements to a Great Guest Experience in a Small Hotel

Whether you run a splendid hotel in Louth, Lincs or a unique guest house in Dorchester, Dorset there are some key elements you can provide to ensure your guests stay with you time and again:

Customer Service

Every guest should be treated with the upmost care and attention. If you’re team does everything possible to make the guest feel welcome and make their stay a relaxing and enjoyable experience, they will want to come back. Customer loyalty is vital to the success and growth of the smaller hotel.

Atmosphere

Many larger chains are so focused on cost cutting that their staff unable to offer a personal service to the client, and fail to create an appealing ambience. Often, this results in the larger hotel guest feeling unwelcome and dissatisfied with their stay.

Many people who have stayed with the so called ‘budget’ national hotels complain of a sterile environment, designed to encourage a fast turnaround of guests. Small, friendly hotels are not constrained by corporate demands, and are able to pay more attention to detail in creating a warm and relaxing atmosphere.

Facilities and Services

Every effort must be made to ensure that a wide range of facilities and services are available at any time to those staying in your establishment, aimed to meet and exceed the client’s expectations. Put yourself in your guest’s shoes; if you can try and conceive of every possible need they might have, and be able to offer it, you’re bound to impress.

Food & Drink

This can really give the small, friendly hotel the edge over its corporate competitors. By offering high quality good value food and drink, you’ll not only give your guest a better experience, but also increase your revenue and repeat business.

Often, larger hotel chains provide a fixed, often unimaginative menu of overpriced food bought in ready made which is poor in quality and woefully presented. If your hotel can offer a flexible, high quality menu catering for all tastes, which is lovingly prepared, you’ll quickly develop an excellent reputation.
