For more information visit Pattaya Girl Friendly Hotel Guide for a greater list of hotel choices. Jim Hunt is an expat living in Thailand. Through the dozen years he's been living there he has become the unofficial welcome mat to visiting friends from all over the world.
Pattaya's red light district has some of the best go go bars and adult male entertainment on this side of Thailand's seaboard. With go go bars that allow nude dancers it's no wonder why many frequent travelers to Bangkok make a special side trip to this once sleepy side fishing village.
To take full advantage of Pattaya's gritty and sexual nightlife it's best to book a hotel that has a girl friendly policy. What does that mean exactly? It simply means that you won't have to pay a silly fee for taking a lady, usually a bar girl, back to your room. This fee is normally called a joiner fee and in Pattaya it'll cost you 500 Baht or more.
Most of the girl friendly hotels in Pattaya are in close proximity to the epicenter of Walking Street, a popular strip of road near the beach filled with top quality bar girls. It's also not a bad idea to stay on Second Road and Third Road. Any of these hotels will put you near the action but far enough not to see it and hear it, and believe me the partying in Pattaya can get quite loud.
One of the most popular girl friendly hotel is Areca Lodge on Soi Diana next to Second Road. This hotel has some of the cleanest rooms in excellent condition. It's about a 5 to 10 minute walk to Pattaya beach and Walking Street. A standard room there will only cost you 1200 Baht and really well worth it.
Another popular girl friendly hotel is called Sunshine Hotel & Residence. It has 2 swimming pools. Need I say more? For 900 Baht per night you can be sure that it may be a bit difficult to get a room here since many tourist want to stay there. While located on Beach Road you're definitely near all the action.
My personal favorite is the Pattaya Marriott Resort & Spa. With the Marriott brand name you'll be sure to experience the ultimate in comfort and luxury. It does cost more to stay there but if you can splurge for a few days then do so at the Marriott. Currently a standard yet extremely luxurious room will set you back 4700 Baht.
For the truly budget traveler at heart who just wants a clean bed with no rats running around take a look at Sawasdee Sea View and it's super cheap 600 Baht rooms, including breakfast. Here you'll find some really bare basic decor. Saving money here will definitely ensure you can spend more on a nice massage.
