Sardinia Holidays: You Can Afford It!

Sardinia holidays have been popular in Europe for just about forever. There is so much that this island has to offer. You can find accommodations to suit anyone’s likes and dislikes, as well as activities, such as shopping, diving, and sightseeing. While Sardinia has also become popular with Europe’s elite and celebrities from across the globe, there are deals to be found.

Here are some great tips for getting a good deal on Sardinia holidays:

1. Plan ahead: You can really save some money on your Sardinia holidays by booking in advance. Some of the airlines that fly into one of Sardinia’s three airports will allow you to make reservations up to eleven months in advance. Many of the online travel websites can secure fabulous deals on hotels, holiday houses, and villas if you can provide several months notice. While Sardinia holidays are not cheap by any means, deals can be found and it’s worth every penny.

2. Travel in the Off Season: Sardinia holidays are much less expensive during the offseason. The weather during the summer is hot, dry, and windy, but the winters are exceptionally mild. You’ll be surprised at some of the deals you can find. There will be fewer tourists around as well, and you may luck into one of the better Sardinia holiday houses.

3. Buy a Package: Many of the travel sites are now offering travel packages that include airfare, accommodations, and attractions such as dive packages. You’ll find that these are usually discounted rates, especially if the travel site buys in bulk. This includes packages for Sardinia holidays.

4. Be Flexible: You can really rack up the savings if you are flexible with your departure and return dates. Many airlines offer greatly reduced fares for traveling on Tuesday or Wednesday. The highest fares are usually listed on the weekends and rates will normally drop on Tuesday nights. If you are making reservations yourself, this is the time to book them.

5. Share the Expense: If you are comfortable traveling with friends, you will probably see significant savings if you go with a group. Many charter companies will offer great deals on group travel, especially the closer it gets to their available travel dates. They don’t want to be out the money they have already spent on the seats, so this can mean a great deal for you.

6. Grab Those Rewards: Many credit card companies and airlines are now offering travel rewards. Add up those miles or reward dollars and see how much you can save. You can often redeem them for discounted airfare or even free accommodations. Depending upon what you like, you may also be able to receive vouchers for restaurants.

7. Trim Your Expenses: If you want a five star hotel, but cannot quite afford it, then consider a holiday house or a villa. These self catering homes are a great way to spend Sardinia holidays and most are completely furnished. You’ll find many of these villas are located in some of the most popular cities and towns. These can be booked through the property owner, a broker, or even some online travel websites.

Sardinia holidays can be found for a great price; you’ll just need to know where to look. By following the above tips, you should be able to have enough change in you wallet to do some shopping!

Very few places in the world will compare to the island of Sardinia. Holidays here are special. It’s a place to relax, soak up some sun, enjoy good food and wine, and see the sites.
