Villa Clara Keys: where to stay?

Villa Clara Keys offer excellent hotel accommodations, equipped with all the necessary comforts, facilities and a wide array of services. Both the design and construction of the hotels were based on a criterion of ecological sustainability in order to avoid affecting the environment, which is the main attraction of this tourist destination which harmoniously blends-in with its natural setting.

So, what are the lodging options?

The Royal Hideway Ensenachos is a stunnig 5-star deluxe property, and it’ s the only hotel in Cayo Ensenachos which confers a seal of exclusivity; cradled between Playa Ensenachos and Playa El Megano, alongside a sugar-white sand beach 2.6 km long kissed by warm crystal-clear waters. This is the second grand deluxe all-inclusive resort operated by Occidental Hotels in the world, which stands out for its exotic design, refined style and the use of 48 000m2 of varying shades of marble. The property is artfully surrounded by exuberant vegetation and gardens. The complex consists of three main buildings with three well-defined products: Royal Hideway, Royal Spa and Royal Villas. Its an ideal refugee for honeymooners, couples, weddings and incentives. This facility is conceived for guests over 14 years old.

On the other hand we have Melia Cayo Santa Maria, a wonderfully exotic combination of luxury and simplicity, especially renowned for its wide open spaces and exuberant vegetation. This all-inclusive 5-star hotel operates only for adults and it is highly recommended for couples. Its architectural design was inspired by the unique colonial structures of the city of Remedios (one of the first villas or settlements founded by the Spaniards in Cuba at the beginning of the 16th Century and famous for its carnival and popular festivities) and by other typical elements abundant in the key. For example, its Jazz bar, with a marked marine ambiance, recreates the interior of the stranded ship San Pascual (also known as El Ponton) an authentic relic of naval engineering which ran ashore in 1993, one mile from neighboring Cayo Frances.

If you wish to live a new Caribbean dream then you should learn about Melia Las Dunas. This 5-star all- inclusive hotel is the largest Sol Melia resort in Cuba and recreates two distinctive environs that coexist in perfect harmony: one for couples and another for families. Life in the hotel revolves around its magnificent lobby, wonderfully decorated in warm bright colors and charming mirrors of water, facing a promenade that mimics a typical rural Cuban street fringed by restaurants, souvenir shops, palm-thatched umbrellas, a wedding gazebo, an ice-cream parlor and a beer garden. Due to its extensive gastronomic capacity, guests are not required to book in advance when dining in any of the 7 specialized restaurants (international buffet, Cuban buffet, steak house, gourmet, Italian, grill and a rustic beach-side restaurant). For those who travel with kids, there is a Mini-club and club for children aged 8-13.

Can’t afford 5-star hotels? There are alternatives :

The Sol Cayo Santa Maria is a 4-star all-inclusive resort, ideal for a fun-filled vacation with the family. Its charm is the result of the artful combination of its natural assets with the renowned comfort and elegance of Sol Melia hotels. This facility is famous for the striking design of its open spaces and green areas.

The 5-star, Ultra All-Inclusive Zaida del Rio Garden Villa is another of the singular products offered by this property, with private access to the beach and hotel. People with kids can also enjoy the benefits of a Baby Club, a Mini-club and a swimming pool with a children’s section.

If you want to enjoy the natural luxury of Villa Clara keys with a lower budget, there is Villa Las Brujas, a beautiful 3-star property, ideal for relaxing, swimming, water sports, scuba diving and fishing. It is especially recommended for families, groups and couples. The rooms are distributed in beautifully crafted wooden cabins with red-tile roofs, erected on stilts on a rocky cliff in Punta Periquillo, offering an exceptional view of the stunning pristine beach.
