Using TotalLMS, from SumTotal Systems, Ariba sees an improvement in their employee skills, and, ultimately, higher satisfaction among customers. Along with the twenty web-based courses, Ariba licensed 39 off-the-shelf courses to teach leadership principles, business practices, consulting and selling skills.
Called AribaWISE, the LMS, which was made by SumTotal Systems, was the catalyst for measuring the Commercial organization’s competencies. SumTotal’s LMS contained a “competency module,” as well as a program defining business goals for the Commercial organization and measurement strategies for Ariba’s executives. The Commercial organization’s individual competencies were assessed via AribaWISE in February 2005. Ariba analyzed the data with its LMS to show how the Commercial organization viewed its level of competency across a range of
measures.
