The Secret Ingredient in Sharpo Murder Mysteries

Thanks to Nora Sharp, Sharpo! dinner theater productions have become the industry standard. Call it attention to detail, call it good taste, call it a keen eye to see cast members gifts and utilize them in the show, call it whatever. Nora Jean Sharp is the unsung hero of mine and of the players in our great company. Why have so many talented performers stayed with us for season after season? Aside from fair pay and fun working conditions, the reason, in my humble opinion, is that these excellent, professional performers love to be part of a great show and part of Nora's family! Nora and I believe that the company that slays together stays together! Nora and I write parts specifically for Duffy Hudson, Nicole Neuman, Jason Reed, Kerri Schmidle, and Jan Fischer.

Nora's philosophy is simple. Treat everyone well and then murder them! Fake murders of course. I think Nora is the rock upon which our whole company is built. Maybe it is her nursing background (She is an ICU nurse) that makes her so compassionate. Her joy and gratitude for life comes through in everything she does and is very evident in the performances of "La Pintura Frecuentada", "Murdertopia" and other dinner theater shows we have created together.

Just between you and me and the Ezine community, my wife is a great actress! The amazing thing is she doesn't even know how good she is. We did "Play It Again Sam" together (The Woody Allen play) and she was outstanding in the role of Linda. I am so proud to work beside her on stage.

This is my first post here so I thought it only fitting to make it about my wonderful, beautiful, incredible partner and wife, Nora Jean Sharp. I think I am probably the luckiest guy in the whole world to be married to such an inspirational person. I had a pretty good little company going but things really took off when Nora came into my life. Sharpo's Murder Mystery Dinner Theater plays weekly in Hollywood, California at the El Cid Dinner Theater.

How Three Card Monte Changed My Life

By: Eric Sharp | 07/10/2009 | Theater
About 15 years ago when I was a young, struggling actor in Hollywood, I auditioned for a co-star appearance on the NBC sit-com, "Wings". I was supposed to be a Street hustler in New York City and cheat Crystal Bernard out a hundred bucks.

Can A House Kill A Person?

By: Eric Sharp | 13/09/2009 | Writing
Nora and I write our own murder mysteries for our dinner theater gig at the El Cid in Silver Lake. Every month we switch the plots and characters because many patrons keep coming back. We were all set this month to open "Where There is Smoke" about a house fire - but here in Los Angeles fires are currently running wild and people are evacuating their homes. We decided to change the story. What we came up with was 'Murder House".

Redesigning Our Murder Mystery Website For Today's Users

By: Eric Sharp | 03/09/2009 | Online Business
Nora and I have a Murder Mystery, Comedy, Magic Show and Dinner Theater business. We are a very small California corporation. Our website is the leveling field that provides us the opportunity to act like a big corporation. Whenever we make any changes to our site it is with trepidation and no small amount of anxiety. Still, we moved ahead and re made our site for today's "Twittersized" attention spans.

The Secret Ingredient in Sharpo Murder Mysteries

By: Eric Sharp | 02/07/2009 | Humor
I have been playing "Detective Sharp" since 1989. I love my gig. In 2003 I started Sharpo Entertainment Productions which became Sharpo Incorporated in 2003. I don't claim to have invented interactive murder mystery theater. I think that with my macabre cast of characters and terrific performers we have come closer than any other troupe in perfecting this performing art form. Of course the terrific scripts and diabolical plots are the solution to a great murder mystery event. for this, I

Company Party Entertainment

By: Eric Sharp | 24/06/2009 | Humor
I watched an episode of “The Office” last night. They were having their company party office awards. I was laughing and cringing at the same time. Steve Correll’s character was so politically incorrect. The employees sat un-amused at the lame jokes and the song parodies. I thought to myself, what’s funny about this is just how bad it is. It also highlighted the need for really good corporate entertainment that is clean, acceptable, and fun.
