While the processor processes commands, it is the RAM that most often enables the speed at which those commands are executed. RAM controls how fast your computer boots, the speed with which application programs open (Internet Explorer, Microsoft Word, etc.), web pages load (eBay, Amazon, Google, etc.) and content plays (YouTube Video, MP3s, etc.).
