When Disaster Strikes Hard, Government Refrains From Divulging the Real Affairs to the Public!

If we re-visit history, we will get to know that the head of the state or the government of a particular country never disclose the actual state of affairs to the citizens when the country confronts a serious calamity. Be it a natural disaster, wars, attacks or an economic calamity, the government prefers to keep the actual details under wraps so that the citizens and public alike do not lose heart and start to become pessimistic. This trend was started at an early date and has been followed till date. Though the opinions differ as to whether due to parliamentary reasons, the government misleads the public; the trend is followed at all costs.

The citizens are also aware of this government policy. Whenever there is any emergency announcement after a calamity, the citizens assume that there must be some kind of manipulation of facts and figures by the government. Details related to the number of deaths and injuries after a natural disaster or an unfortunate accident are also manipulated by the government. The casualty figure disclosed by government sources is always considerably lesser than the actual scale of loss and destruction. In the modern world, hardly any country exists that does not follow this trend.

The current economic catastrophe striking at the base of the global economy no longer news. The countries are doing their best to safeguard citizens from the present economic disaster and its offshoots such as regression and inflation to the utmost extent possible. Unfortunately, no matter how powerful the efforts of the government prove to be, complete protection from economic blows is not a possibility. The common man has no way out but to bear the brunt of this economic catastrophe. In these circumstances, the governments try their best to portray the situation with a certain amount of positivity for the citizens` sake.

However, this ploy fails to work at all occasions. At times, in such situations, the head of the states find no way out but to acquaint the citizens with the real state of affairs. For instance, the low phase of the global economy has landed several countries in the soup and especially the underdeveloped countries found themselves in the throes of suffering. When faced by this particular economic situation, these countries have decided to acquaint the citizens with the reality to satisfy the common man's queries on the scarcity of important commodities and the resultant inflation. Altogether, the underdeveloped countries have come out in the open to seek help from developed countries and also from powerful international organizations like IMF.

Interestingly, it is still a favorite and highly practiced policy of the government to keep the actual affairs hidden from the public. For example, in 2004, there was a misleading by the US government when the impact of George W Bush's regime was discussed. Though there was a discussion, the government refrained from disclosing the social, economic, or political reality. While talking about the US, it is worth mentioning that this country has benefited a lot from India and is still cashing in on the first-rate services provided by the Indian IT companies. The US is hiring world class custom software development and web application development services from India at considerably cheaper rates. A top-notch Indian software company is currently a hot favorite not only for the US but also for the other developed countries. However, there is no denying the fact that both India and the US are reaping mutual benefits by associating with each other.
