Lloyd’s of London represents the world’s leading insurance market. No wonder, since the UK insurance system not only helps the people secure their belongings, but also emphasizes on protecting businesses from different risks. In addition to this, it employs 339,000 people, which is almost a third of all financial services jobs, and controls 17% of investment in the London stock market.
General insurances play an important role. It helps people confide in the business they are running or it gives them the security of having the car or even a simple laptop right there where they need it.
Life and health insurances are also important. The premiums usually are in favour of non-smokers and moderate drinkers, but also encourage the other beneficiaries to get rid of that viciousness. In addition to this, obesity is a world problem, and the UK is well aware of that.
Most life insurances have a special assigned fund for the private medical sector, in order to assure better services and modern facilities. And even if it is a bit expensive for you, remember that any amount of financial protection is better than none. Furthermore, a monthly income will be paid to the policyholder in case he/she is no longer able to work, due to an accident, sickness or injury, providing an amount of money that will help him live a decent life.
Home insurance is another aspect worth mentioning. There are two types of insurance: buildings insurance to protect the property's construction and contents insurance to protect your moveable household objects and valuables. Whether you choose the first, the second, or both options, you will feel relived to know that your house is safe.
Travelling insurance is generally a choice for those who work abroad and return home from time to time rather than those ho go on vacation for a couple of days. There can be medical clauses included in the contract, or it can be specified that you need to have a Health and Life insurance if you don’t want to pay good money if you get sick while being abroad.
There are plenty more types of insurances that people in the UK are looking forward to acquire, but these mentioned above are the most important. The UK insurance industry pays out almost £156 million per day in pension and life insurance benefits and £54 million per day in general insurance claims.
