2009 is coming up fast, and as with the previous article about 2009 Interior Trends (predictions), this article will go into more detail about the Oriental Sweetness theme in an effort to help you choose the right interior and canvas art for 2009.

Colours
As you may expect from the title, Oriental Sweetness takes its influence from the far East. Simple, clean shapes are offset by striking colours from the red and purple spectrum.

However, to contrast the strong Burgundy's and purples, mix with more natural colours such as off whites and creams. Use these natural colours as your base, and work the vibrant colours into focal walls and textiles. Be bold and be daring, and Oriental Sweetness will reward you with a warm and relaxing space, with plenty of longevity.
Influences
Oriental designs have always taken a lot of inspiration from flowers and anything organic, both of which work well on canvas art for your new interior. Minimal blocks of colours add a vibrant feel similar to early pop art and in more modern graphic design.
Blocks of colour which would have originally been hand painted with soft delicate water colours showing off the soft brush strokes are now being duplicated within modern design thanks partly to illustration programs such as Adobe Illustrator.

Interested in having a focal point? Keep it simple with bold colours and vector shapes work due to their lack of tone and their increased style. Be careful what you choose for your canvas art, and if your not sure, ask someone in the industry.
Conclusion
Floral and oriental images have been consistently popular over the last 4-5 years and for 2009 its going to get bigger. Combining the two together, Frazier Boyd will be working on some custom floral, oriental and stencil art images to compliment Oriental Sweetness perfectly.
