Bedroom Suites, Bedroom Furniture and Bedroom Sets

If you are looking to redecorate your bedroom, or perhaps you have recently moved house and are looking to personalise the master bedroom, you will be searching around all the major department stores and websites for everything and anything under the section named ‘bedroom furniture’. Once you have entered the world of bedroom furniture you may find yourself feeling a little overwhelmed with the mass amount of choice available and with all the lingo and terminology. Depending on which store or which website you are searching through you will come across the terms bedroom furniture, bedroom suites, and bedroom sets, but what do they all mean? It sounds like all three terms mean exactly the same thing! They are related but they are slightly different, here is a look at each separately:

Bedroom Furniture – bedroom furniture usually includes everything and anything to do with any kind of furniture in your bedroom. Bedroom furniture can include all the major items such as the bed, the mirror, wardrobes and so on, but it will also include smaller items such as mirrors, lights and light fittings, knicks and knacks etc. Bedroom furniture is usually the top category and then it gives you the option to narrow your search down even further such as choosing from Wardrobe, Bedroom Set, Chest of Drawers, Bedside Cabinet, Bed, Cupboard, Dressing Table, Mirror, and Lights.

Bedroom Suites – so now we know what is included within the term bedroom furniture we can have a look at bedroom suites. A bedroom suite includes the three main items of bedroom furniture that is usually required; this includes the bed frame, the wardrobe, and a chest of drawers. What is included in a bedroom suite may differ from package to package, for example some suites may offer 2 wardrobes and no chest of drawers, or they will specify if the suite is a single bedroom suite or a double.

Bedroom Sets – a bedroom set is very similar to that of a bedroom suite but it generally includes extra items of bedroom furniture. Where a bedroom suite usually includes the main furniture items for the bedroom, a bedroom set can include the dressing table, bedside cabinets, and a mirror. It is always recommended to ask the store or website exactly what is included in the bedroom set before you buy.
