Buying bedroom furniture and bedroom suites can be quite pricey, not just for the actual bedroom set but for all the other little bits and bobs that you don’t think about in the beginning. Such as if you take out your old bedroom furniture will the bedroom need re-decorating? Will you need to change the door handles or even the doors? The light and lamp shades won’t match with this new bedroom suite and so they’ll need replacing as well. It all stacks up and so how can you keep the price down while still having the ‘to die for’ bedroom suite and décor you have seen in this months issue of Interior Design?
Well there are a few methods to keep costs down when kitting out your bedroom. One tip is to shop in the sales. Sale bedroom furniture are great in that you can find some real bargains with up to 70% off, no lack of quality just due to the fact there is a Summer sale on and all prices are slashed! In effect you can quite easily spend half the amount on your favourite bedroom suite just by waiting till the sales are on, and you don’t have to wait that long either. Most furniture stores operate on a seasonal sale basis to get rid of their stock so they can get new suites and sets in ready for the new season, you see advertisements for these sales on TV all the time, End Of Summer Sale, Spring Sale 50% Off, Buy Before the New Year and Get Massive Reductions On All Bedroom Furniture Sets, and so on and so on.
Not only are sales great for picking up fantastic bargains but sales people are more open to haggling. The furniture shop’s one aim is to rid their shop floor of old stock ready for the new shiny stock to come in, rather than making a loss and throwing it out they want to get rid of it and make some money too even if its 70% less than what the retail price is. You may think because there is a sale on and prices have been cut once they won’t go any lower but they are actually more open to the idea. Try it out, next time you see a sale on in you local furniture store try haggling for the bedroom suite you are after, you will be surprised at the response you get.
You may be thinking I have an empty bedroom upstairs and I don’t want to wait 2 or 3 months for a bedroom furniture set just because of a sale, of course if you absolutely need to have the bedroom furniture there and then you will have to look at what sales are on now and choose the right option for you, but if you are planning in advance to remodel your bedroom then just have a think about when the sales are on across the board and whether you can wait until then, you will save hundreds and hundreds of pounds!
