Tabletop Fountains: Tips for Placing Them in You Home

Indoor water fountains can seem like an incredibly simple way to give your living space a little extra class and sophistication, but the truth is a badly placed tabletop fountain can easily give guests the same impression as if your front lawn was scattered with pink flamingos and gnomes.  You must be careful about where you put your indoor fountains, and be sure that the decor of the space meshes well with whichever tabletop fountains you have chosen!

That said, it is not impossible to make indoor water fountains work for your space no matter what your decorating budget and existing home decor are; what you have to consider, however, is whether that big beautiful stone cherub tabletop fountain can really be at home in your small kitchen atop your 1960’s retro style chequered table.  Doesn’t sound so perfect when you put the two worlds together, does it? All too often, a homeowner sees a gorgeous tabletop fountain and is suddenly bombarded with dreams of a big lush house where this water fountain could happily live.  Unfortunately it just doesn’t work this way!  Be very careful when choosing your indoor water fountain and always keep in mind the space where it will be placed.

You don’t have to have an enormous, spacious and exuberant household in order to incorporate a water fountain – in fact indoor water fountains are perfect for bringing a little peace into an atmosphere that can all too easily become stressful and boisterous.  What you will need for a well-placed tabletop fountain is either a neutral table (think polished hardwood) or a table that has been crafted from the same artistic genre as your fountain.  Try not to clutter other decorations around the fountain, but if it seems a little lonely and exposed you could add some flower arrangements or smaller, matching knick knacks. Just be sure to put the somewhere you can see, hear and enjoy it when you are in need of relaxation and peace of mind.
