#1.  Most important, before you do anything is measure, measure, measure.  Have an idea where you want to put your desk, file cabinet, printer stand etc. this will give you an idea of how much room you will have for each item you want to purchase.  Then you can get the dimensions of the home office furniture you find that you like, and you will know if it will fit in your space

.#2.  Having a budget is also a very key factor in what kind of office furniture you buy.  You need to set an amount that you can afford to spend and then search for furniture that fits in your price range.  Remember you budget and stick to it.  Knowing what you can afford to spend will keep you from overspending.

#3.  When shopping for your office furniture remember the two major factors to consider are function and comfort.  The office furniture you chose should make your working hours be more productive.  You will be spending a big part of your day in your home office so you will need to have office furniture that is comfortable.  One key piece of furniture you should not skimp on if your desk chair, you will most likely be spending a lot of time sitting at your desk. Your chair should feel good, be adjustable and roll well to save you time and steps moving around to different areas of your office.  This time that you spend working will be more enjoyable if you have comfortable furniture.  We all want our home offices to look good, but you should never give up comfort for style.  With a little searching you can find just the right office furniture to provide you with the comfort you need and the style you want.

#4.  You should always take into consideration the material of the office furniture you are considering.  Some material, although it may look good, will not be very durable.  You need to consider how well the furniture will hold up and how easy it will be to keep clean.  This is very important if you have children in the house.  A good wooden desk will usually last a long time and look great as well as being functional, although there are other materials that will also be very durable.

With a little bit of planning and following these tips, you should be able to furnish your home office within your budget.  With a little searching you can find furnishings that are comfortable, durable, and stylish, that you can afford.  The Internet is a great place to shop for your office furnishings.  You will find a wide variety of styles, materials, in a lot of different price ranges.  You should find just what you are looking for.
