While you may have a grill in your home, do you have any grilles? When decorating the walls of your home, we have several options, including clocks, paintings, mirrors, and so on. However, another lovely item that you should consider adding to your wall ensemble is the grille. It resembles the original versions that people have historically used to protect their windows and doors. Here are some tips for using wall grilles:
1. Let the grille complement without demanding compliments
One of the most wonderful benefits of the grille is that the grille can complement other types of decor. There is no need to plaster the wall with them. Simply add one to bring together the other decor into a complete ensemble. A wall grille can achieve this objective without becoming the focal point of the room.
2. Consider various locations for the wall grilles
We can find traditional grilles in one of two locations: doors and windows. However, by definition, you can place grilles on any wall in your home! If your home has walls (and it probably does), then carefully select a place to hang the lovely grilles. Some examples include:
- over an entryway
- over a fireplace
- over a sofa
Technically, no correct or incorrect place exists for hanging a wall grille. However, make sure that that the grille creates balance with the wall it is on, and contributes to the overall balance for the entire room.
3. Wall grilles are a solid investment in a soft economy
During an economic downturn, we are all watching our pennies. While many of us would like to revamp entire surfaces in our house (or even entire rooms), sometimes we have to put that project on hold. However, wall grilles can provide you with outstanding value. Made of durable materials such as iron, grilles will last and last and last. By adding them to some other strategically-placed pieces, you can create a perfect ensembleat a reasonable cost!
4. Add a few coats of clear spray paint to your wall grilles
You do not have to use a top-of-the-line brand of paint. Any cheap can of clear spray paint will work just fine. Regardless of whether your wrought iron wall grilles are indoors or outdoors, placing these extra coats on the surface will extend the life of your wrought iron grilles.
5. Use your wall grilles to frame pictures
You can use wall grilles in a variety of different ways. Be creative! One method is to use wall grills to frame your modern wall art. Place one grille above the picture, and another one below the picture. This will add some extra pizazz to your already attractive paintings and such.
When selecting decor for the rooms of your home, consider wall grilles. They are strong, attractive, and classy. Use them alone or complement other wall decor, such as mirrors and pictures. Wall grilles work wonders!
