As part of my courses I examine a couple of headache or migraine sufferers – a highlight of this course was the examination of a young woman with a 14 year history of menstrual migraine. It was important for delegates to witness the temporary reproduction and lessening of familiar headache/migraine pain during the examination. This confirmed her neck as the source of her ‘menstrual migraine’. I have since learnt from her and the treating physiotherapist that she has had a period since the course without her usual ‘menstrual migraine’ – I expect this improvement to be maintained, but will report back in a few months.
