5 Devices That Can Benefit From 4G Technology

Posted: Apr 19, 2010 |Comments: 0 |

One of the great things about 4G wireless Internet is that it can power up almost any electronic device on the market.  Traditionally, powerful 4G modems can connect to any computer that has a USB port and a wireless card.  However, some new electronic gadgets come with 4G modems already inside.  Therefore, we have an entire market full of new Internet-ready gadgets that are self-contained systems.  Here are five examples of devices that now offer 4th Generation technology.

1. The Laptop System

This is the most obvious option: a portable PC connected to a 4G modem by USB port.  This connection will bring your entire desktop (with your Internet) straight to your laptop for car travel, work travel or everyday loitering.  It is amazing to think that you can use your Internet connection from a park or in a doctor's waiting room.  Just be sure to keep the volume down when you're surfing karaoke clips on the bus.

2. The Digital Camera

Your digital camera is your best friend!  How comforting to know that in this day and age you no longer have to worry about scanning all of your favorite pictures!  In addition to that, you no longer have to worry about downloading photos to your PC.  Since the newest digital cameras and camcorders are Internet-ready all you have to do is send your pictures to an email account.

3. A Portable DVD Player (or Car player)

Sometimes when you're driving for hours on the road it's distracting to put on a good movie starring Dennis Hopper and Jack Nicolson.  Hold on now—we meant distracting for the rest of the family.  You may want to watch the road, but the family (and mainly the kids) want to see action, cartoons, comedy and all sorts of weird anime stuff.  With 4G technology you don't have to worry about being out of new DVDs.  You can download a new movie while in your vehicle!

4. The Video Game Console

Video games are getting better thanks to great technology pioneered by the Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 3, Nintendo DS and PSP.  The best games allow online interaction and competition with people from all over the world.  4G Wimax allows a more stable connection for gamers, which will keep the friendly competition intense all year round.  With the introduction of new systems and new add-ons (like the Project Natal) things are sure to heat up in 2011!

5. Cell Phone

Exciting features are now being built into 4G cell phones.   Imagine having a cell phone's portability but with a broadband speed that is comparable to a hardwired computer.  You could watch films or sports on your cell phone, listen to music, and perhaps even play online graphic based games.  This technology turns your cell phone into a virtual web browser.

The possibilities are endless!  For more information on 4G broadband Internet contact a provider in your area.  You may be able to find an affordable package that is comparable to your DSL or cable bill.
