A 'real online income opportunity'? "Yeah, right. If I had a dollar for every time something described as that has landed in my inbox I'd have about $50". It doesn't really matter what the particular 'bizopp' is. The real online income opportunity is in how that business is marketed. Web 2.0 has blown the lid off that.
"So what is Web 2.O and how that could help me earn money on the web so I can pay off my credit cards, quit my 9 to 5, take nice holidays and live in a place that takes me over three seconds to get to the phone?". A good question.
Web 2.0 or 'Social Media' is the new wave of how people use the internet. In 'olden times' it was only techie types who built websites and our role was to surf, read, be grateful. Nowadays, the web is interactive and communities such as Facebook, MySpace and Twitter - to name only three - attract several thousand new people a month.
Something frequently describes as a real online income opportunity is multi-level marketing or MLM. This has had its detractors in former days, with good reason. But online MLM specialists like Ann Sieg have ushered in a successful, ethical and super-leveraged way of doing MLM business online. Web 2.0 has become an integral part of expanding what was already a real online income opportunity.
If you're promoting a multi-level marketing business online, then harnessing the power of Web 2.0 can catapult your sign-up numbers. This definitely does not mean spamming thousands of people with your 'real online income opportunity' because that creates the same negative feeling as you or I get when someone does that to us.
No, the art of using Web 2.0 is to become a part of those communities and offer good, entertaining and/or uplifting content to your profile and to your commenting. It's perfectly OK to weave a link to your website on your profile or on your commenting because that's not an up front pitch or spamming. People click on your link if they like your content enough. Simple.
Of course, pay per click, e-zine advertising, and press releases are all a real online income opportunity too. However they are also 'money pit' opportunities, however lucrative they can be in skilled hands. If you'd like your marketing efforts to be unpaid, then the only price you'll pay is time and patience, and Web 2.0's great advantage is the extraordinary growth it currently enjoys.
Google loves Web 2.0 sites as these sites improve the surfers' experience, always a key 'driver' for Google. Web 2.0 article sites such as Squidoo, Hubpages and Scribd are often to be found high in search rankings. These are all well worth submitting useful content too about your business as long as it's not too blatantly salesy. Better to create interest and then leave the salesy stuff to your own site.
Whatever you think is a real online income opportunity, there is no free lunch whatever business you choose. The only place where 'success' comes before 'work' is in the dictionary. But there is something called 'working smart'. Web 2.0 sites and communities offer superbly leveraged ways for you to brand your business, your product and most importantly yourself.
