When you decide you want to make a site there are more options then you may think. There are many plugins and additional components which you can use with ease, with most of them you simply download the zip file, upload it to your server in the relevant folder and then activate the plugins through the cms admin.
If you want to create a blog type site with a cms then wordpress is the most popular. You can add categories so that when you make east post you simply tick the relevant category you want it to appear in. If you want to avoid the blog style website then there a number of options which have been tried and tested. One of the bigger ones is called joomla, this will allow you to make a really complex site with ease. You can add functions such as a sitemap, contact us page and links page with the click of a button. Joomla allows you to create either static pages or sort them into categories and sections.
