There are many different ways to make money working at home and one of those is to do data entry. You've probably seen various ads and websites on the Internet talking about how to do that. In this article we are going to take a closer look and answer the question, can you really work at home and make money doing data entry!
The bad thing about most websites is all they're doing is selling information of companies that are looking to hire. You must be careful when you buy a list like this because many times they are not accurate and are out of date.
What happens is you begin to work the list and not see anybody contacting you back. You eventually give up in frustration because you realize that you've been taken advantage of when you bought the list initially.
A better approach is to market yourself and your skills directly. There is no doubt that more and more companies are hiring people to work out of their homes as opposed to requiring them to drive into an office and do it.
Telecommuting is more popular than ever and will continue to do so as the price of gas continues to rise. The key is to figure out how to market yourself for a data entry position on the Internet.
TJobs is an example of a work-at-home website of which there are many on the Internet.com that offer work at home jobs in various categories. You can check it out and see if they have any links for data entry or other categories that you might qualify for.
The other thing is to get a map and determine how many businesses are within a few miles of your front door. These might be candidates for you to do various things for including data entry.
The only thing you can do is contact them via phone, mail your resume or by e-mailing them to see if they would have an interest. To do that you need to set up an online profile that describes your abilities and what you are looking for in a work at home job.
There are many different ways data entry work can be done and some of those include medical transcription. If you're willing to work at it you can develop your own home business doing this.
A person who does data entry, is someone who will create lists of information such as names and numbers and addresses and other contact information. You need to be detail oriented.
You can also do word processing for companies including writing letters, preparing reports and so on. You could even answer the phone and in essence start your own virtual assistant business.
These are a few ideas that can help answer the question can you really work at home doing data entry. Yes you can, but you're going to have to become active in looking for companies that would hire you.
