Developing a Millionaire Mentality for Home Business Success, Part II

Minimum mentality people let things happen in their life; millionaire mentality people MAKE things happen. So how do you learn to control your life, rather than letting your life control you? You become devoted to a lifetime journey of personal development and growth. First, find mentors who speak to you. Listen to and read everything your mentors say. Next, find successful people and copy what they do. You've probably heard that success leaves footprints, and it's true. You might as well walk in them rather than taking an unproven and uncertain path.

Sounds great, but is it that easy to get started? What's step one? In any endeavor, personal or business, it's so easy to suffer from information overload. To get so overwhelmed with all of the available information that you can't even take step one. Oftentimes, it's hard to even figure out what step one is.

The first thing you need to do is take a serious look at who you spend your time with. For me, I sadly realized that 100% of the people I was spending any significant time with were minimum mentality people. Make a list. Write down everyone you spend time with, how much time you spend with them, and what you do during that time. And then make some hard choices. Some of these relationships may be so toxic to your mindset that you must completely eliminate these people from your circle of influence. There are some people you can spend an occasional few minutes with, some you can spend hours with, and hopefully at least one you can't get enough time with.

And here's a big word of caution -- DON'T underestimate the power of influence a minimum mentality person has over you. You may think you can ignore the negative influence, but especially when you're still struggling to develop a millionaire mentality yourself, you don't stand a chance at home based business success unless you surround yourself with the right people.

This was never more clear to me than when I attended Lisa Diane's Millionaire Training Camp. Spending three days engaged with others living and seeking the millionaire mentality was incredible. It was inspirational, empowering, fostered limitless creative thinking, and was just plain fun. It would be worth almost any sacrifice for the opportunity to live with such people in such an environment for even just a year.

The reality is that because the millionaire mentality is found in only 3% of people, at most, you aren't going to be surrounded by them every day all day in most cases. But as you work to develop relationships with millionaire mentality people locally, remember you can engage yourself with the right people by reading the right books, and listening to personal growth CDs in your car, your bed, and around your house. As you get into your journey, you will meet people online and at seminars that can provide terrific support and friendship opportunities.

So let's get started. Take an honest look at who you're spending your time with. Make some hard adjustments -- step out of your comfort zone -- and get to work on filling as much of your day as possible with those who have, or desire, a millionaire mentality. By doing this, you've put yourself 90% closer to home business success.
