Google Street View is an awesome tool that lets you see a panoramic view of every street the Google Street Car has driven through. We've had tons of fun with Google Street View, especially when trying to find ourselves, our Designer Nat Burch managed to find herself outside Liverpool's Catholic Cathedral.



Besides the fun, Google Street View also has cool practical uses:

I have a drawer full of leaflets from takeaway restaurants at home and I must admit I'm a bit partial to a weekend takeaway and I'm always wondering if the place I'm thinking of ordering from is more of a chip shop style takeaway or a restaurant takeaway(aka cleaner). So what we can do with Google Street View is have a good look at the place so we can see if we still like the look of it.


Checkout your Holiday Destination
Next time you're thinking about going on holiday and think you've found the right hotel take a moment to look at it on Google Street View! Thinking of holidaying in Madrid this year? Fascinated by Roma Italy? Go find your hotel and have a sneak peek at the local sights. Now you can see the uncensored resort and it's locations, no nasty surprises!

Moving house?
Find out what the property agents don't want you to know before you book an appointment to view. You never know what lurks amid the neighbourhood, so using Google Street View can save you a lot of time and effort this way. It's likely Google indexed locations some months ago so keep this in mind. On the other hand it can give you a good idea of what's changed on the property.

What's new where you used to live?
This one is a bit more of a time waster but what the hell, it's interesting to see what's been happening around your old home. Reminisce at the sight of your childhood home and see how it's changed in so many years. You can even look at your old school or maybe your old holiday destinations.

Don't know where to go!
Got a new job interview? Got a party to go to? Google Street View really helps by giving you a picture of what you're looking for. This works especially well in busy cities where it can be a nightmare to find your destination. Alas, if you can view the destination on Google Street View, you will have more chance of finding it first time round since you know what to look for!

Google Street View is amazingly fun, practical but can also be scary since so much of everyday life is captured by it! There's been an influx of websites hosting funny and cool images taken from Google street View. Maybe you could try finding Wally(that guy with the white and red striped jumper), either way it's great for passing time and having a chuckle at the locals in everyday life.
